Introducing ....Carlingford Park Sweet About Me (Scarlett)
Surprise has blessed us with another exquisite filly, this time by Royalwood Boy Soprano. True to form she foaled 12 days early and has given us yet another colour, finally a lovely chestnut with ample chrome. With 'Scarlett' on the list for so long, waiting for the first red baby girl from Surprise, she was instantly named at 2:30am. We couldn't be happier with our new addition and just can't believe our luck to get a fourth consecutive gorgeous girl from our beautiful little mare. As expected from this cross she is simply devine.

It appears are favourite girl 'Surprise' is getting closer to introducing us to her new addition by Royalwood Boy Soprano. Whilst her due date is still just under 3 weeks away but with all indications leading to an impending arrival, our fingers are tightly crossed for a safe arrival for both mother and foal.
This weekend we welcome back Sabrina (CP High Society) for a well earned rest ahead of her anticpated saddle debut in early '09. She has progressed exceptionally well with her education and will no doubt appreciate her summer solace before heading back to Mossman Park early in the new year.
In the coming weeks we also welcome our new broodmare addition, Mirinda Touch of Diamonds (Keston Royal Occassion imp x Chippenham Daisy Mae), who will ariive from Leanda Stud in Victoria. We thank Sarah and her family for allowing Darcette to join 'our girls' here at Carlingford Park and we look forward to seeing what she can produce for us during the coming years.
October 30, 2008
With the NSW Riding Pony Show behind us our youngsters National Anthem and Sweet Embrace are now enjoying some down time in their paddocks. On the day all three of our entrants donned red rosettes with Sweet Embrace (Sienna) second to the eventual overall Supreme RP Exhibit of the day Stathford Park Bel Canto, who is by the sire of our much anticipated Songbird foal, Royalwood Boy Soprano.
The next day we headed to St Ives Show where National Anthem (Neon) was sashed Champion Riding Pony Exhibit from a large champion line up. Socialite (Satine) won her Arabian Derivitive class, her RP class and was sash Champion Part Welsh. Sienna was unshown with the other two more than enough for us to deal with after the big day prior
On the breeding front Meadowbrook Mosaic has been tested in foal to Rothwell Toytown for a late August foal. Our thoroughbred mare, Do Not Enter (Sophie), is currently at stud at Royalwood where she has been covered by Boy Soprano, and CP Theatrical has been covered by the lovely Welsh B stallion Ashbury Park Replica, fingers crossed all goes well with those mares.

At her first show ring appearance since
Sydney Royal our lovely CP Socialite had
a successful outing at the HV Arabian 'A'
Class show to take out Champ RP, Champion
Part Welsh & Reserve Champ Aust Saddle
Pony before being awarded Supreme Led All
Breeds Exhibit. With the recent retirement of
CP Theatrical it was decided to return Satine
to the showring a little earlier than planned,
with pleasing results. We look forward to
showing her lightly in hand before getting
her saddle career under way.

Congratulations to Tina and Chrissy Mougios on their purchase of Carlingford Park In Vogue. We are confident Chrissy and Vogue will forge a strong friendship and we look forward to hearing of their endeavours in the coming years.

A few days after Singleton Show we headed to Melbourne to take delivery of our new 'Discovery' float which we are thrilled with. The float doubled as our accomodation on the final evening, after driving through torrential rain in our search for motel accommodation from Gundegai to Mittagong failed due to the long weekend. We finally called it a night pulling up stumps in a rest area at Pheasants Nest. Thankfully Steve had the foresight to throw in the trusty swags! A link has been added for Discovery Floats on our links page.
Whilst down that way we took the opportunity to catch up with family and friends. Thank you to Dale and Heidi for your hospitality and to Daizi and Poppi Plumb for keeping us well entertained. We also enjoyed an evening with Steve's brother Peter and his family where we got the chance to take a look at their new house which they are eagerly waiting to move in to in the coming weeks.
Congratulations to Leanda Stud on the purchase of Silkwood Heaven Blessed, now in foal to their resident stallion Kirreway For All Occassions. It was pleasing to visit Cherub who is thriving so well in her new home. Here's hoping she produces that elusive filly for Leanda which then goes on to be as successful as the lovely Leanda Hello Dolly, currently taking the Victorian Saddle Pony arena by storm.
September 28, 2008.
At Singleton Show we faired well with Sweet Embrace awarded Reserve Champion RP Mare/Filly and National Anthen donning the Champion RP Stallion/Colt rosette. It was also great to see CP Heaven Reigns win his RP gelding class for Kate and Garry Fitzsimmons.
Unfortunately, Carlingford Park Theatrical has been retired to stud (at least for the time being) due to injury. Whilst very disappointed at the outcome we are now searching for a suitable stallion to put her in foal to.

With another weekend upon us it was the turn of our yearling filly 'Sweet Embrace' to experience life as a show horse and whilst we expected she may find it all a little daunting she flew through the day like an old timer. Sienna was able to pick up qualifications in her 3 registrations however with an adjudicator who found it all to confronting to put a youngster above older horses a broad sash wasn't to be on this occassion. Nonetheless, at only 10 mths old and with her whole life ahead of her we have no doubt she will certainly win her share as she matures in the coming years.
Also stepping out on the weekend, for the first time since becoming a mum and being broken in, CP High Society ventured to Blacktown Show with the Robb Family. It was pleasing to hear she won her led RP class and took out Reserve Champion RP so she is now underway to qualifying for the big shows in 2009. Well done guys!

After a lengthy hiatus, we headed off on the weekend to a Sydney youngstock show with our yearling colt 'National Anthem' who enjoyed a successful debut bringing home 3 broad sashes. Equally pleasing was the way in which he handled the experience, proving what a pleasure he is to work with. We look forward to campaigning Neon during the coming months.
Thank you to Ben & James of 'Westlake' for lending us their float ensuring our babies their first outings whilst we wait for our new float to arrive ...
September 4, 2008.
As spring arrives with a cold snap and much welcome deluge and our youngsters are looking closer to making their showring debut ironically we find ourselves without a means of transport. With our float now residing in the Kemsey region with Peta Davison and her family, many hours have been spent researching a replacement.
Thankfully our small galloway CP Theatrical is furthering her education and will commence the show season with Terrie Lamey. We have entered her for the NSW HOTY and she is being offered for sale in the October edition of Horse Deals (refer For Sale page).
CP High Society is also close to making her show ring debut in-hand for the Robb family, in partnership with the stud, and we look forward to joining them ringside to see her strut her stuff.
News from the Borg family is CP Vaucluse has been broken in and is going beautifully. She has made a successful in-hand appearance, beautifully handled by Alexis, who took out the Best Junior Handler title before Varsha was sashed Reserve Champion Part Welsh at Luddeham APSB show recently.
Recent shots of CP Heaven Reigns show he is growing out very promisingly. We look forward to him taking on the youngstock gelding classes in the coming months.
Much is happening at Carlingford Park at present and it is hard to find time to make regularl updates but as spring progresses I will certainly endeavour to make a greater effort. Good luck to all for the breeding and showing season.
July 15, 2008
Finally we have our new site up and running and since it has been so long since our last update we have much to share.
Over the past months many of our ponies have found new show homes ....
Carlingford Park Heaven Reigns - Kate & Garry Fitzsimmons, Tamworth.
First to head off was our sweet little Chipmonk who is now settled into his new home with Kate & Garry Fitzsimmons, Weona Park, Tamworth. Already being prepared for the spring Chippy has endeared himself to all who meet him with his gentle and loving personality. We can’t wait to see Chippy and Kate step out in-hand during the upcoming show season and consider ourselves very fortunate to have a Carlingford Park pony in such a super show home.
Carlingford Park High Society - Colleen & Sara Robb, Central Coast, NSW.
Having been broken in shortly after we returned from the Royal, Carlingford Park High Society (Sabrina) is now in the capable hands of mother and daughter team, Colleen and Sara Robb. Currently campaigning Roseagle Spring Surprise with great success, we hope Sabrina is able to do her part in keeping them in the winner’s circle over the next few years. As the first foal of our precious ‘Royalwood Songbird’ we are all excited to watch her progress and look forward to her stepping out in partnership with the Robb Family.
Carlingford Park Decidely So - Colleen & Sara Robb, Central Coast, NSW.Meanwhile, back on the CP farm Dawson, having been purchased by Sara and her family, is currently growing out before heading to Mossman Park alongside Sabrina, to undertake a saddle career of his own.
Carlingford Park Vaucluse (Varsha) - Alexis Borg, Nelson, NSW
Carlingford Park Vaucluse is very fortunate to be heading to her new home with the Borg Family of Nelson NSW. A lovely family of dedicated horsey girls (& not so horsey brother) Varsha has been purchased for eldest daughter Alexis who is often seen mounted on various ponies for owners on the Sydney show scene. Varsha will head off to the breaker before being shown in hand and brought along under saddle with the guidance of Kirsten Strath.
We wish all owners of Carlingford Parkponies all the best with their new charges over the coming years and eagerly look forward to watching their showring successes unfold.
Carlingford Park Theatrical has recently headed off to be campaigned by the very competent Terrie Lamey. Assisted by daughter Mandy, Terrie is no stranger to the winners circle at top level competitions having educated and exhibited such success stories as Rathowen VIP (exp NZ), Rathowen South Wind, Rathowen Electra, Rathowen Rustic, Westlake High Court and more recently Westlake Star Appeal and qualifying Rathowen Envy for the 2009 Grand National at his showring debut ....
We can't wait to head off to watch Thea and Terrie compete in the near future.
The arrival of our sensational colt 'Westlake National Anthem' was very exciting after many years spent searching for just the right colt. His dam the beautiful Heatherbrae Never Forget, the only outside mare covered during Tempting's short stay with us in 2006, was often competing against our precious Songbird as a youngster and was well loved and admired by myself for, amongst other things, her gorgeous head and sweet disposition. To now have her son as our future resident sire at Carlingford Park is very exciting.
And what a little character he is, winning hearts and already a favourite with family and friends alike. We look forward to his show ring debut as a yearling in the coming months.
